Decapeptide-12 (marketed as Lumixyl) is a peptide alternative to hydroquinone for skin lightening — one of two pigment-pathway peptides in this cluster alongside Nonapeptide-1.

Decapeptide-12 inhibits the tyrosinase enzyme and reduces melanin transfer to keratinocytes, lowering melanin deposition.
